Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Appointments
- Approved clients can book and pay for their dietetics and nutrition appointments through the online client portal.
- The specific nature of the appointment will be established through the client intake forms or based on previous sessions.
- New clients can receive a complimentary InBody 570 scan at their request.
What to expect? Dietetics and Nutrition Care Overview
Generally, dietetics and nutrition care will be conducted progressively at each RDN appointment.
1. Nutrition Care Consultation/Screening/Assessment/Diagnosis/Intervention
- Review/collect client nutrition intake and assessment data.
- Genetic testing if applicable.
- Comprehensive nutrition and health assessment covering your diet, anthropometrics, weight, family history, client needs, and goals.
- Review the client’s situation, conditions, diseases, goals, and objectives.
- Analyze current food/nutrient intake, set goals collaboratively, and develop an action to achieve the goals.
- Diagnose nutrition problems and develop condition/disease-specific nutrition interventions and meal plans to treat conditions and achieve client goals.
- Coordination with referral sources or other providers as needed.
- Set follow-up appointments as applicable.
2. Nutrition Care Re-Assessment/Intervention/Monitor/Evaluate/Update
- Assess/Review: Food and nutrition-related history, Current & Historical anthropometric measurements (InBody 570); Biochemical data, medical tests, and procedures; Nutrition-focused physical findings related to conditions; Personal, family, social, & medical history; Client needs & goals; Genetic report if applicable; other.
- Diagnose nutrition problems and develop condition/disease-specific nutrition interventions and meal plans to treat conditions and achieve client goals.
- Monitor and evaluate the client’s progress and provide support to achieve goals, including nutrition recommendations, disease or condition-specific meal plans, counseling, education, and other support such as referral to other health care providers.
- Coordination with referral sources or other providers as needed.
- Set follow-up appointments as applicable.
3. Nutrition Follow-up and Continuation of Care
- The number of follow-up appointments is determined on a case-by-case basis. Most clients follow up 1-2 weeks after the initial appointment and then on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis, as needed.
- Follow-up sessions are often a critical component to maintaining long-term success rates.
Fitness Nutrition Coaching
Sometimes, clients may wish for sessions that are not disease or condition-specific to provide general nutrition advice. Sessions may include:
- Nutrition and Health Assessment, Health History Review, Body Composition Analysis, & Basal Metabolic Rate.
- Daily caloric targets, macronutrient discussion & targets, micronutrient discussion, hydration, electrolytes, performance nutrition or supplementation, food intake tips to achieve targets, & dietary recommendations.
- Other nutritional information specific to the client’s goals and objectives.
